Space Projects

The Arts Society East Herts have donated £800.00 to help support three projects which SPACE plan to run over this coming Spring and Summer.  The grant will go towards purchasing arts and crafts materials for the different workshops and art sessions which are planned.  SPACE is a Hertfordshire charity, based in Stanstead Abbots, supporting families of children and young people who are on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD), have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or other neurodiverse conditions.  (spaceherts.org.uk)

Middleton School, Ware,

The Arts Society East Herts have donated £500.00 to Middleton School, Ware made up of £250.00 from our charitable fund and a £250.00 grant from The Arts Society head office.

Middleton School, Ware, is a Primary School for pupils who have Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language and Communication Difficulties and Autism as well as a variety of other challenges.  There are 80 children in the school who are aged from 4 to 11 years and, although the children are not necessarily academic, they have great pride in what they do and the school required funds to purchase art materials such as canvasses, easels, paints, etc. The school knows that the children will enjoy creating their own art works which will then be displayed in a newly created art gallery within the school.

Presdales School, Ware - Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) Star Student Competition 2021

Last term Alison Sykes, Head of Art at Presdales, forwarded four pieces of art from ‘A’ level art students which The Arts Society then submitted to be judged for the RBA Star Student Competition 2021.

Amazingly and wonderfully three of the four girls have had their work accepted for the upcoming exhibition - only 20 works in total are chosen.  No-one is yet sure when the exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, is likely to take place due to Coronavirus restrictions but hopefully it will be sooner rather than later this year.

TASEH and Presdales should be very proud of their successes at the RBA over the past few years!
